Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is a common foot condition that causes pain and inflammation in the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue running across the bottom of the foot. This tissue connects the heel bone to the toes, supporting the footβs arch. The pain is often sharp, especially with the first steps in the morning or after long periods of rest. It can be triggered by excessive strain, poor footwear, or prolonged standing. Athletes, runners, and people with flat feet or high arches are more prone to developing it. Left untreated, it can worsen over time and affect mobility. Treatments range from rest, stretching exercises, and supportive shoes to physical therapy. In severe cases, medical interventions like injections or surgery may be required for relief.
